Emo Emu
Privacy policy
Updated October 7, 2026
Emo Emu is a game made by Night Again LLC. This page says what the game keeps, where it goes, and what never leaves your phone. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
The short version. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress lives on your phone and in your own iCloud. The game shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects the usual advertising data described below. We do not sell your data, and we never see your name or email unless you write to us.
What stays on your phone
- Your progress and settings. Scores, records, unlocked looks, the options you pick in Settings. Stored on the device.
- Your diagnostics log. The game keeps a short technical log of its own behaviour (frame times, music changes, errors) to help us fix bugs. It stays on the device and never leaves it; the App Store version has no way to send it. (TestFlight builds have an Export diagnostics log button in Settings so testers can send us one by hand.) Deleting the app deletes it.
What goes to Apple
- iCloud. If your phone is signed in to iCloud, the game syncs your progress through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so a new phone picks up where the old one left off. That data is in your Apple account, under Apple's privacy terms. We cannot read it.
- Game Center. If you use Game Center, leaderboard scores and achievements go to Apple under your Game Center identity, under Apple's terms.
- Purchases. Emo Emu Plus and Black Hearts are bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we receive a receipt, not your card.
What goes to Google (the ads)
The game shows ads through Google AdMob. To do that, Google's software in the app collects:
- a device advertising identifier, where your iPhone settings allow one;
- an approximate location, worked out from your internet address (country or region, not your street);
- which ads were shown and whether they were tapped;
- basic device and performance information.
Google uses this to pick and measure ads, under the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partners. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EU and UK), the game asks you before any personalised ad is shown, and you can say no. If you say no, or if your iPhone blocks tracking, ads still show but are not personalised to you.
Emo Emu Plus removes the ads. With Plus, none of the above is collected by the ad network.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, or location from the device.
- We do not knowingly collect anything from children. Emo Emu is rated 13+.
Your choices
- Ads personalisation: the consent prompt in the game, and iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- iCloud sync: iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › turn off iCloud for Emo Emu.
- Everything on the device: deleting the app deletes it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date. A change that matters will also be mentioned in the game's release notes.
